Difference between a standard dental hygienist appointment and airflow?
Within both appointments, the hygienist will assess the oral health of your mouth, checking gum health and carrying out oral health screening. However, a standard dental hygienist appointment incorporates the traditional methods of scaling with an ultrasonic scaler or hand scalers or the blended technique of both.

What is the purple stuff?
Disclosing solution! Applying disclosing solution to your teeth makes plaque and biofilm visible, highlighting areas for our Dental Hygienists to quickly remove using Airflow. Giving you a clean, bright, healthy smile.
Disclosing solution works by changing the colour of dental biofilm and plaque in order to provide contrast with the tooth surface.
Surfaces which are biofilm free can easily be rinsed off, leaving the areas of dyed plaque and biofilm ready for us Dental Hygienists to remove using the Airflow system.
